Chipmunks Dance Trend
The chipmunks dance is a three-person TikTok dance that took off in mid-October 2026. Groups of three dance to a sped-up version of Dead or Alive’s “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” in a routine inspired by Alvin and the Chipmunks and the Chipettes.
What the videos have in common
The videos follow one format: three people, one sped-up song, one routine. The trio bounces in place, swings their arms and takes turns stepping toward the camera, so each dancer gets a moment up front.
Why did the trend spread?
The three-person format turns the dance into something friends do together, and every video invites another trio to try it. The sped-up song is instantly recognizable, and the link to Alvin and the Chipmunks gives the dance a name people already know.
How long will it last?
TikTok trends like this usually run their course in four to ten weeks. The chipmunks dance took off in mid-October 2026 and peaked in early November, so it should start to fade in mid-to-late November.
